At Nicholas Lindsay Architects, we specialise in the design of new-build houses in Scotland. We like to work closely with our clients believing the design process is a team effort. We design new-build houses with a realistic and pragmatic approach, considering a wide variety of influences such as the brief, context, form, planning, materials, and sustainability. Every context and brief for a new-build house is unique and we believe the design should reflect this.
We set aside time at beginning of the project to get to know our clients and understand what they want to achieve with their new home. The starting point is the clients’ idea, from there we use hand drawn sketches, drawings, and 3D visualisations to convey our thoughts. This is constantly tested and changed to suit our clients’ aspirations. We use the latest 3D drawing software and can provide virtual reality presentations and photorealistic visualisations to help our clients understand the design.
A new build house should be innovative, it should be provide the inhabitant and guests with the ‘wow’ feeling. We like to use interesting materials, pushing the boundaries of contemporary architecture and the Scottish planning system.
