Kirkton of Collace House, Perthshire
A contemporary rural dwelling house in Perthshire
Our clients approached us to design a contemporary and energy efficient family home. Using the neighbouring buildings and topography as reference, we proposed a full storey dwelling. This along with the rear balcony area will provide views over the countryside and is also cost efficient way to build.
The proposed dwelling will extend to four bedrooms and is arranged in a courtyard style layout, reminiscent of traditional farmstead typology. Materials include locally sourced, stone, timber and a standing seam metal roof. All materials are readily used in rural Scottish Architecture. Although the design is ultimately contemporary in nature, careful attention has been afforded to traditional design and construction methods.
